The planet of Mars is colonies all around the planet, with different types of facilities spread about. This is the starting point for your journey in this strategy game. You start with a small colony of just six people, but you'll have to expand on it if you are to stand a chance competing against the other players out there on Mars. The players out on Mars can take a maximum of two Colonies with them. The player making the first Colony will have their own special underground facility, dubbed the "Underground Facility". Colonies have no resources of their own so they must trade resources with other Colonies. At the start of each turn, a certain amount of resources are allocated to you from your home base and you can also receive a certain amount from trading with other Colonies. As you trade more and more with other Colonies, your inventory will eventually fill up and need to be traded away. Different types of resources can be traded for one another, but some items you'll only find at a certain time or during specific missions... Throughout the course of the game, you can receive different awards for your achievements in battle. Wins in battle are rewarded with special medals that are then used to unlock special items. These are things like new weapons, items, missions or characters that can be used in-game. Note: The Arcade is not available on the Wii console version of Lost Planet Colonies. The referee for this game is Melody and she will commentate and guide you through all of your matches. She will let you know about upcoming events and what strategies to take to win each mission. She will also describe what's going on during each mission and give her personal analysis on it. A new feature in this game are the "Colony Battles". When coming upon enemy Colonies, you can battle with them. The player who defeats the other colony's Colony Leader receives the resources they had on them (although they may not always yield what you're looking for). After defeating a player, that player becomes friendly to you and will be able to join your Colony. You can also choose between two different game modes of play. The first one is "Survival Mode" which will task you with defeating all nine of the enemy colonies within a certain period of time or else it will end. The second one is "Campaign Mode" which tasks the player with completing the game no matter how many times you fail. If you are successful enough, you can unlock "Extra Mission" where you will have to complete certain tasks in order to get unique items. There are eight different types of colonies on Mars. Each kind of colony has their own characteristics that can be used when playing online or when creating your own character in Game Center (the only way to create your own character in single-player). The Colonies are: You can also choose between six different characters to play as in the game. cfa1e77820
